I feel surreal. My spine shivers and my fingers shake. It’s a strange surge of emotion, knowing people who have been murdered. I can still see him smiling in my head, just like he did back in high school. He can’t be dead.

That old diatribe rings in my ear: the good die young. 

When “i” is replaced with “we” even illness becomes wellness.
